Q. What is Academic/Student price?

A. Student price and Academic price are special discounted prices that many software vendors set up to encourage students and faculty to use their cutting edge products for research and study.
At Software4research, we offer those prices for academic customers.
Please check carefully about the eligibility of purchase, since most of those special prices require IDs to verify your status.

Student prices range from 50 to 70% off of the retail prices, and Academic prices range from 20 to 30% off.
(Some vendors set an expiration date or limited functionality and/or materials for those specially priced version.)

Please send us a copy of the specific IDs (Student ID or Faculty ID), either by E-mail (scanned copy) or by fax (+1-310-937-7899 USA).

Upgrade version is only offered for the current users of the software to upgrade to its newer version.

Software4research offers Site License, Network Site Licenses, Lab Pack as well as Volume discount.

Site Licenses vary depending on vendors, in terms of definition, requirements, minimum purchase quantity, specification and so on.

Q. Do I need to give you my personal information to purchase products?

Software4Research ask you to input your personal information, such as your name, address, school name or company name, and email address, when you submit an order. Those information would be sent to the vendors for them to check the eligibility of purchase and register user information.

Q. Tell me about Shipping Charge

A. Software4reserch uses UPS Ground for domestic shipment and YAMATO TRANSPORT U.S.A. for international shipment, except for any direct shipments from vendors.

If you need any faster shipment, please write your request when placing your order.
We can arrange 2nd-dayAir and Next-dayAir shipment with additional shipping charge for the product we normally stock.

For the direct shipment from the vendor, we would request faster shipment to them for you with additional shipping charge.


Q. Can I track the shipment?

A. Yes.

If Software4research ship you the product by UPS or YAMATO, they will send you the tracking number by email.

If vendors located in the US ship you the product directly, we will forward the tracking number as soon as we receive it from them.
If vendors located outside of the US ship you the product, there might be some cases that no tracking number is available for you to track your package.

Q. When do you ship the product？

A. For the CD / DVD / printed manuals orders, Software4research will ship the products on the day we receive the order, if we have them in stock.

Direct shipment from vendors is usually shipped out within 3 business days.

For download products, it is usually delivered within 1-2 business days.

Please note that we cannot guarantee those estimated shipping dates.


Q. How about sales tax or import tax?

A. California sales tax would be collected, when products are delivered to the location in California, which is 9.75% as of 2010.

For the international shipping, there might be some cases that you would be charged the import tax depending on the country you are located.

In that case, you need to pay the import tax to receive the product.

Import tax is usually charged to your credit card by the shipping carrier such as UPS, DHL, or FedEx.
